Building a Better Future for Families Starts With Listening.
BRIGHTSY exists to elevate the experiences of parents, connect those experiences with research, and help create stronger systems that support children and families.
Why BRIGHTSY Exists
Families today are raising children in a world that is changing faster than ever before. Technology, education, healthcare, work, social expectations, and community life have all evolved rapidly, yet many parents feel their experiences are overlooked in conversations about what families truly need.
BRIGHTSY was created to change that.
We believe parents hold valuable knowledge about what is working, what isn't, and where families need better support. By bringing together research, thoughtful conversations, educational resources, and the lived experiences of parents, BRIGHTSY aims to create a clearer picture of modern family life.
Our mission is simple: listen carefully, organize what we learn, and help turn parent experiences into knowledge that can inform better decisions, stronger communities, and healthier outcomes for families.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a trusted place where research, education, and parent experiences come together.
We publish research briefs, educational videos, and thoughtful conversations designed to help families better understand the challenges they face today. At the same time, we work to collect and organize the experiences of parents so that their voices can contribute to future research, public conversations, and better decision-making.
We believe listening is the first step toward lasting change.
Our Vision
We envision a future where the experiences of parents are not treated as anecdotes but recognized as an essential source of knowledge.
As BRIGHTSY grows, we hope to build one of the most trusted collections of parent perspectives, produce accessible research that helps families make informed decisions, and contribute to conversations that improve the systems children and parents rely on every day.
Progress begins by listening. Better outcomes begin by learning together.
Our Founder
BRIGHTSY was founded by Joe Stickel, a U.S. Air Force veteran, entrepreneur, father, and longtime leader with more than 30 years of experience spanning education, technology, hospitality, manufacturing, banking, and business ownership.
Throughout his career, Joe has been driven by a simple belief: meaningful improvement begins by listening. His interest in child development, neuroscience, and family well-being led him to ask a question that would eventually become the foundation of BRIGHTSY:
What could we learn if we truly listened to parents?
What began as an effort to better understand the relationship between families and early childhood education soon revealed a much larger opportunity. Parents are navigating unprecedented changes in technology, education, healthcare, work, and community life, yet there are few places where their collective experiences are thoughtfully gathered, organized, and connected with research.
BRIGHTSY was created to help fill that gap. By bringing together research, education, and the lived experiences of families, Joe hopes to contribute to stronger conversations, better-informed decisions, and healthier outcomes for children and the people who care for them.
